Play is such a powerful system for learning

There was a game “Street Fighter”:

You see, I used to be obsessed about this game. I would put hours and hours into it. Probably hundreds, maybe even thousands.

I was hooked. I would play with friends at lunch. after some breaks. At stores. Anywhere I could play, I would.

It was 90s. Vidoe games consoles were typically designed in a way that you have to stand and use both hands to play. I started competing only using one hand, then it got so crazy that I could play it using my foots (no kidding) and was able to defeat some other players.I could sometimes even play it with my eyes closed.

I had it all memorized…

(I know some of you can do the same, don’t judge me… )

But here’s the thing…

Did I sit down and memorized each game character, their powers, mixed with various opponents and combat scenarios?

Hell no, that would take forever and not be as fun…

No, I didn’t need to. I learned by playing. I memorized by having fun.

I let my natural curiosity get the best of me.

It helped me learn so much information with very little effort…

Play is such a powerful system for learning.
